Experiences of Lapland

Spring greetings from Saariselkä, Lapland!
It is +4celcius and sunny (more like was since it's already evening now that I'm finishing this). Seems like the spring wants to arrive early this year but it has definitely not slowed us down. IC goes to Lapland trip started last week on Friday at 1:45am. In just few days we have done and seen so much new things but because a picture is worth a thousand words...
Day 1:
Our first stop was to see the Kemi's SnowCastle. This year, because the winter started so late, the building couldn't get started until January but was finished in record time: in only 15 days!

The theme of the SnowCastle changes yearly and this year the theme is the secrets of the ocean! We had a change to meet a pirate ship, climb up in the lighthouse and explore the the treasures of Atlantis.

Besides all the other wonders the SnowCastle also has a SnowRestaurant..

And a SnowHotel. Everything made of snow and ice of course. Quite cool I'd say. Too bad it was not included in our program to stay the night in the SnowCastle.

Next, we went to the Santa's village in Rovaniemi and met Santa himself! I even got his autograph ;)
There we also got to walk across the Arctic Circle, or jump over it like some..
 Day 2:

A day trip to Norway! Got to see plenty of reindeer on the way and finaly swim in the Arctic Ocean! Be proud, I was the first one in the Ocean!

More jibberjabber and pictures of Day 3 coming up tomorrow!
