Our International Club went to Lapland a while ago and here we have greetings from Stefan Schepers how their trip went:

As member of JAMKO IC, you get a lot of great opportunities to go with a group of exchange students to Lapland for example. During this trip, I helped with being a travelguide.

We arrived around 19 o' clock in the evening in Saariselka. But before we arrived at our destinations. First we made a stop in Rovaniemi during the morning we visited a museum and to buy some groceries. Ofcourse, most students have also visited Santa claus :D in the afternoon.

The next day, we had the sports day. We walked on snow shoes and we went cross county skiing.
In the afternoon most people went swimming in the spa :D. It was a very relaxing day.

On Saturday, you could take it easy if you would like. Because all our activities were in the late afternoon. Iceskarting was amazing. Fast and on a slippery track. In the evening, we had kind of a preparty at a reindeer farm. Later on, the most people went to the local club.

Next day, we had a long day. Because we were going further up north. To Norway, Finn mark. In our bus, was a guide that told us a lot of interesting things about living in North Lapland. When we were in in a small town, that has been established by the Finns. We had a soup lunch and later we took a sauna and swim in the Artic Ocean. On the way back to Finland. The bus had some troubles to bring us back to Finland. 2Nd bus also and believe it or not, also the 3rd bus. I think, we selected simply a very bad day, to go to Norway.

On Monday, was our last day, to be in Lapland. But before we left Lapland. We had the possibility to go on a husky safari and to drive on a snowmobile. Overall, it was a great day! In the late afternoon we drove back to jyvaskyla.

I am sure. Most people have enjoyed this trip too!
